Samra Mayanja
An artist-writer obsessed with language, humor, and the body’s expressive potential, Samra Mayanja delivers performances that blend physical theatre, poetic monologues, and tender vocal improvisations. Her work has graced stages and galleries worldwide, from Cambridge Junction to Kampnagel (Hamburg) and Transmediale (Berlin). Prepare for a thought-provoking and boundary-pushing experience.
Major Sixth
A dynamic Black-British singing collective, Major Sixth brings a fusion of soul, pop, R&B, funk, and dance to the stage. Drawing inspiration from legends like Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, and Beyoncé, their high-energy performances and electrifying stage presence are guaranteed to get you on your feet. With members who’ve shared stages with icons like Chaka Khan, George Ezra, and Skepta, Major Sixth is a testament to the power of unity and the healing force of music.
Deppa/Hirst Band
Led by trumpeter Claude Deppa (Cape Town) and saxophonist Clare Hirst (London), this band brings dizzyingly eclectic sounds, fusing African, Afro-Cuban, jazz, soul, and funk into a high-energy performance. With over 30 years of collaboration, Claude and Clare are joined by a stellar lineup of musicians, including Kishon Khan on piano, Miles Danso on double bass, and Siemy Di on drums. Their new album, Beyond Bahula, is a testament to their vibrant creativity and infectious grooves.
